The Eco-Dome is a high quality and indispensable plug protector against snow, ice and sleet, freezing rain for an electric car’s charging port.

This patented product is entirely designed and manufactured in Canada. It will prevent any breakage or charging problems caused by severe winter weather conditions. Made from high grade canvas, and not from thin fabric that will tear after a few wind gusts, it will remain in excellent condition for a long period of time (product has been tested in extreme conditions and maintains original quality). To avoid snow and ice accumulation, a strip of industrial quality “hook and loop” gripping material, « velcro » like, completely protects the access to the electrical cable. A great product and a nice look combined together for their practicality and esthetics.
The Eco-Dome fits most electrical EV car and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles, but not the ones made of aluminium, plastic or polymer side panels because the magnets won’t work on these.
The recommended product for my 2022 Hyundai Kona is the ECO-DOME KO but unfortunately the hood of the vehicle is manufactured from Aluminum or Stainless or some Composite Material that is Non-Magnetic .
To get some use out of the product , I removed the magnets , and closed the hood onto the flap .
Not ideal but I got some use out of it .

Definitely a superior product. Great build quality. We just had a HUGE dump of snow and freezing rain. The charge plug would have been frozen in solid but your product protected the charge port perfectly. Was a bit confusing how to initially install it but found a video on YouTube that explained it in French (I’m bilingual so that was OK although anglophones might have trouble) Suggestion: why not produce your own set of videos and have them available on your own site? Customer Service!! I have recommended your product many times in online forums.
When my Eco-Dome arrived, I couldn't quite figure out how it was to be installed under the hood of my '21 Kona EV. However, after a couple of calls to Support, the mystery was solved.
Last Thursday (Dec 9) we had quite a fall of snow here in Cape Breton--about 20 cm or more. Fortunately, it was forecast, and when I plugged in my charger, I made sure that the Eco-Dome was installed around the charging port. When I went out to unplug the charger next morning, there was about 15 cm of snow on top of the Eco-Dome, but NO snow inside the charging port!! I am super happy with this purchase, and would recommend it to any Kona owner. I'm sure that the other models would work equally well, but I have no experience with them.
Hello I bought an EcoDome for a Rav4 prim. The quality of the material and the seams is good. The idea is good, but there are still improvements to be made for the product to fulfill its role.
Under -10c the material hardens and it becomes difficult to handle to put it in place or to store it. The dome is hardly big enough to cover the load port, and it tends to close on itself. We have to work hard to install it because otherwise there are openings on the sides and the snow, but above all the water seeps inside the port.
The biggest problem is the number and the lack of power of the magnets. There are only 3 small magnets in the top of the dome. Between the magnets there are still openings between the body and the dome, water runs down the body and into the charging port.
Also, the magnets are just strong enough to hold the dome in place. If you have a stone protection film like for example Xpel on your body, forget it the magnets don't work at all.
This design flaw is very easy to fix. By replacing the 3 small magnets with a magnetic strip that is the width of the dome. This would allow for water infiltration and if the magnet strip is of good quality it would allow for compatibility between the dome and the stone protection films.
The customer should be informed of the non-compatibility between the Dome and the stone barrier films, this is an important point for all those who have or plan to install
stone protection film on the periphery of the load port.
I live rural, no garage, so I really needed this device in order to charge my car in the Winter. It works effectively and fits my Ioniq plugin hybrid perfectly. I can keep it handy in the car and don't have to worry about snow or rain for that matter. So far I haven't had to test it with a heavy snowfall but it has worked great so far. It's a relief to have it!
Very useful and of good quality. Perfectly adapted to my vehicle (Hyundai Ioniq PHEV 2020). Stays in place even after snowfall. But above all, it protects the charging connector very well in case of frequent ice in the Outaouais region. The magnets are strong enough to keep the protector in place.
I am very satisfied. The sleeve fits very well on the Kia Niro and even if it doesn't provide 100% protection against the rain, I would say that it provides at least 80% protection. I haven't tested it yet in the winter, with the weight of snow and ice, but for now it provides good protection against rain.
the elements don't fit on the hood of the kona, I have to put them under the hood to make it fit.
